10 Dec Here comes the end of Trainning part in Gloria Villalba’s programme
The second call for the Gloria Villalba Awards concludes its training phase with the participation of 24 educational centers and nearly 500 young people.
The second edition of the Gloria Villalba Awards is about to close its training phase, after several weeks of work in which 24 educational centers from the three provinces of Aragon have taken part in an innovative training process focused on youth social entrepreneurship.
In total, around 500 young people between the ages of 14 and 17 have received five classroom training sessions designed by the youth team responsible for the Rural Youth Facilitators project. This educational material aims to provide tools for teamwork, identifying local needs, designing projects with social impact, assessing project feasibility, and fostering social entrepreneurship and youth participation.
The sessions were delivered by committed and engaged teaching staff, willing to step outside the usual classroom dynamics to introduce non-formal education methodologies that allow students to face challenges beyond academics. All of this aims to equip them with the skills to design and launch their own social entrepreneurship projects.
Teachers have been supported by the Rural Youth Facilitators project, represented by youth technicians from district and municipal councils within the network, as well as professionals from Local Action Groups. The sessions have been integrated into a variety of subjects, such as Social Economics, History, Technology or Personal Pathway for Employability.
The outcome of these sessions has been very positive, enabling all enrolled classes to move on to the ideation phase before December 15, completing the project form that will allow the selection committee to assess the proposals.
During the evaluation phase, a committee of experts made up of professionals from the educational, youth and rural development sectors will analyze the submitted initiatives based on the criteria established in the call guidelines: Innovation, Participatory and Collaborative Processes, Communication, Youth, and Product or Service.
In the coming days, we will be able to announce the 10 selected projects, which will be developed and implemented during the first months of 2026, contributing to strengthening youth participation and boosting transformative initiatives in rural areas.
